TAXA X Introduces New Features For Off-Road Enthusiasts

The TAXA X trailers are built on the foundation of the company’s Overland models but have been upgraded with several new features to enhance durability and performance in off-road conditions.

Each model is equipped with the Cruisemaster CRS2 suspension system, which is designed to provide superior shock absorption and stability on uneven surfaces, a critical feature for off-road adventures. The models, except for the Woolly Bear X, also come with the Cruisemaster DO35 V3 Plus hitch, which further enhances stability and control.

TAXA X trailers are a testament to our ‘go farther’ ethos and reflect TAXA’s commitment to innovation and durability in overlanding. We’ve taken everything we know about exploring the wild to craft a line that empowers adventurers and gives them confidence to hit the hardest terrain. These habitats are more rugged than ever.”
—Neil Grimmer, CEO of TAXA Outdoors

A reinforced chassis enhances the structural integrity of these habitats, making them more resistant to the stresses of rugged terrain. Protective skid plates shield the undercarriage from impacts against rough ground and obstacles, reducing potential damage during off-road excursions.

In addition, the trailers are fitted with off-roading rock slides to protect the chassis from rocks and debris, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the trailer over extended use in challenging environments.

Built For Durability And Versatility

The TAXA X line emphasizes durability and versatility, key attributes for off-road enthusiasts who venture into remote and rugged locations. The use of aircraft-grade rivets increases the trailers’ durability and resistance to vibration, which is vital for maintaining structural integrity over time, especially when navigating bumpy trails.

Versatile Molle panels provide flexible exterior storage options, allowing adventurers to carry additional gear or supplies. The Woolly Bear X and TigerMoth X models also feature upgraded cargo roof racks, adding extra storage capacity for gear, making them ideal for longer trips where additional equipment is necessary.

According to the company, these modifications make the TAXA X trailers a compelling choice for those who want a compact yet rugged basecamp that can handle a variety of environments, from desert landscapes to forest trails.

TAXA X Models Overview

Each model in the TAXA X line offers unique features tailored to different outdoor needs:

Mantis X

As the largest model in the line, the Mantis X offers ample interior space for sleeping and storage, along with all the standard off-road features. It is designed for families or groups who need a robust yet comfortable basecamp for extended stays in the wild.

Cricket X

This mid-sized model balances compactness with functionality, making it suitable for couples or small families. The Cricket X combines all the core features of the TAXA X line with a more streamlined design, making it easier to tow and maneuver through tight trails.

TigerMoth X

The TigerMoth X is a lightweight, towable habitat that provides versatility and ease of use for solo travelers or couples. Its compact size does not compromise on durability, and it includes upgraded cargo racks for additional gear storage, making it a perfect choice for those who travel light but require reliable performance in tough conditions.

Woolly Bear X

The smallest of the lineup, the Woolly Bear X is a utility trailer that offers maximum cargo capacity with minimal weight. It is designed for those who need a highly adaptable platform for carrying gear and supplies, with the same rugged features found in the larger models, minus the Cruisemaster hitch.

About TAXA Outdoors

TAXA Outdoors was founded in 2014 by Garrett Finney, a former NASA architect who sought to develop a better camping trailer to suit his family’s needs. Frustrated with the lack of options that combined durability, minimalism, and a connection to nature, Finney designed his first trailer, the Cricket.

The success of this model led to the establishment of TAXA Outdoors, which has since expanded its product range to include several different models catering to various outdoor activities and preferences. The company continues to focus on building lightweight, minimalist habitats that offer protection from the elements while maintaining a close connection to nature.
